Elizabeth Ward, Development Manager

Elizabeth is a graduate of the University of Iowa where she helped develop several initiatives to improve university recycling and sustainability monitoring.  Her most enjoyable project was teaming with other students to plant and maintain the first organic garden on campus.  She also enjoyed her summers on a traveling conservation crew, restoring native habitats in Iowa and learning prairie ecology as well as the finer points of chainsawing.  Her interests include sustainable food systems, conservation, and social change.  Elizabeth grew up on acreage in Iowa where she started composting and gardening as a child, although she did not do much weeding!  She enjoys exploring her new California home by biking and backpacking.  In her spare time she likes to read, travel, and grow vegetables and is always on the hunt for new recipes from around the world.
